Join Kansas City metropolitan community members from the sectors of business, mental health, education, environmental stewardship, law enforcement, religion, etc. for the next Mindful Kansas City Initiative planning meeting. We are exploring ways in which applying the skills and attitudes of mindfulness to our relationships with ourselves, others and our environment, the work we do, and our everyday lives, might offer an upstream approach to addressing some of our community’s most pressing concerns. We are operating from a belief that increasing awareness of and exposure to the practices of mindfulness can help create a paradigm shift and change in consciousness required for deep and sustainable beneficial change.

Our next Mindful Kansas City Think Tank meeting will further refine our Mindful Zones Project, an initiative intended to raise awareness and make mindfulness practice more accessible in our community. Our next meeting will focus on defining criteria for “Mindful Spaces” and implementing our Mindful KC Zones. We’ll also be discussing how to increase exposure to and familiarity with the concepts, practices, and skills of mindfulness—especially among those who are traditionally under-represented.
